Art Shows

ST GEORGE ART SOCIETY exhibits members’ artworks at a variety of venues and at various times during the year.

The Members’ Annual Art Show is the major event of the St. George Art Society’s calendar, providing an opportunity for members to showcase their artwork and share experiences, friendship and camaraderie.  The Annual Art Show continues the Society’s long running association with the fund-raising Lamrock Committee of St George Public Hospital.

There are opportunities throughout the year for members to exhibit their artwork at local artisan markets and other art shows, including the Art of Sydney, run by the Combined Art Societies of Sydney, of which SGAS is a member.

The majority of the Society’s Awards have traditionally been named after the early and founding members who had significant influence on the direction of St George Art Society.

  • Walter Bennett Award for mediums other than oil and watercolour

The official Opening Night held on the Friday evening prior to the show has a $10 admittance which includes refreshments and a light supper served and a bar available.

A member of the art society donates an artwork which is the raffle prize to raise funds for the Lamrock Committee of the St George Public Hospital. The Show continues Saturday and Sunday, opening for free admission 10am until 4pm on both days.
