Events

The St George Art Society Committee is dedicated to developing and maintaining interesting and creative art events for the Society’s members.

Several events are organised each year with their main event being the SGAS Annual Art Show held in November.

During the Covid years, our events for  2020 and 2021 were held Online as an alternative to our Art Exhibitions held at our usual venues.  These were still very successful events with many online sales which helped members stay motivated during those difficult times.

In 2022 the event was back to normal and held once again in their usual location in Kogarah.  For a while after the main event, it continued online giving those who were unable to attend the show, the opportunity to still make their purchase of a fabulous painting created by our members.

SGAS Members are also eligible to present paintings for the Combined Art Societies of Sydney (CASS) Awards.

Art Shows

ST GEORGE ART SOCIETY exhibits members’ artworks at a variety of venues and at various times during the year.

The Members’ Annual Art Show is the major event of the St. George Art Society’s calendar, providing an opportunity for members to showcase their artwork and share experiences, friendship and camaraderie.  The Annual Art Show continues the Society’s long running association with the fund-raising Lamrock Committee of St George Public Hospital.

There are opportunities throughout the year for members to exhibit their artwork at local artisan markets and other art shows, including the Art of Sydney, run by the Combined Art Societies of Sydney, of which SGAS is a member.
